Homemade Split Pea Protein Powder (Chocolate Flavored)

1. Begin by thoroughly rinsing your split peas. Place them in a bowl, fill with water, and cover overnight (8-24 hours) to soak.
2. Next, rinse and drain the soaked split peas. Line the base of a glass bowl with a wet paper towel, add your split peas, and top with another wet paper towel. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set it on the counter until the peas sprout (24-48 hours).
3. Set your oven to its lowest temperature (or use a dehydrator at 110°F/43°C). Rinse your sprouted peas, pat them dry, and dehydrate for 9-10 hours until completely dry and brittle.
4. Once completely dried, add the split peas to a blender and blend to create a fine powder. Sift the powder to remove any clumps.
5. To make a chocolate-flavored protein powder, combine 1/2 cup chocolate powder, 1/4 to 1/2 cup powdered sugar (adjust to taste), and a large dash of salt with your prepared split pea powder. Mix thoroughly.
